my redtop was running fine a few days ago and all of a sudden it has been shaking like crazy the motor and whole exhaust... i found a broken vacuum hose to the manifold and fixed that, but it is still sluggish and shaking!

can boost leak really cause this? and does anything have ANY idea what is going on.... sr20det redtop stock... greddy profec ebc.. apexi neo thats all i have....

ideas?

so are you saying its a boost leak like your boosting and its not giving you the right amount of boost

or

its a vacuum leak that it shakes during idle? motor mounts maybe

If you have a bad enough boost leak you will notice it on your vacuum gauge it will be lower than it should. It should be between 19-21.If it is say like a leak under boost when you start building boost up it will get to one point and just start bucking and jerking.Vacuum leak will give it a rough idle and slight hesitation when acceleration.

well the best way is a dyno and smoke machine but well if it is off that bad you can try another way.I have done this when I have been out of the middle of no wear lol.Do not rev it high that is the worst thing to do to a motor when out of gear highest you would want to go is about 4500 rpm.You can rev it or have a friend do it and one of the other take your hand around the ends of every coupler and check and see if fill air comming out it should be able to make about 2pounds of boost at idle dont try to make anymore.
