Is there a way to close all your valves so you can leak test your entire intake without pressure coming out the exhaust side? I'm thinking no, but just asking.

When the throttle body is closed, doesn't it seal up well enough to be able to create pressure in your piping? I've never tried, but that is what I was planning on doing. Someone please tell me if that isn't going to work.

you don't need to worry about it. think about what happens. if your exhaust valve is open, your intake valve on that cylinder is probably closed. there can be a bit of overlap, but not enough that your air source cannot replenish. you will hear a very slight hiss by the head, but if you have a real piping leak or gasket leak you will hear that for sure over what is slowly bleeding by.

and no, it's not the throttle plate that seals it. the air will go past cuz of the IAC, as well as the plate itself
