Hey im thinking about going sr swap soon and need some advice about the necessary gauges I need. I know I need boost and water temp for sure. But what about a wideband,EGT, air/fuel etc. are these necessary? Because im going to run a very mild set up and probably use the stock turbo and mani for a while. Also what do you guys think of Autometer gauges or where I could get some decently priced gauges? any good suggestions is much appreciated.

You won't need a wideband unless you're going to tune your car.

For my KA-T setup, I'm using Autometer gauges I bought off of eBay.
I'm using Boost, Oil Pressure, and Water Temp, good things to have.

I'd go with an oil pressure gauge too, good warning if things are about to go boom lol

I'd save up a bit and get one from a reputable company ie HKS, Greddy, Apexi, Defi etc. I bought the Megan ones and although my boost meter reads fairly accurate, my water temp gauge is really suspect now. It used to read between 190 degrees to 200 degrees and now it barely goes pass 175. Plus a lot of the cheap brand ones looks cheesy.

Well im either going with a JWT/Nis tune or I might go with a piggy back like a Apexi super afc neo for tunning so would I need a wideband if i go with a piggyback? So really im just gonna need a boost, oil press , water temp and maybe a oil temp? also I know im gonna need a boost controller but what about a turbo timer? is it necessary? So what do you guys think of innovate or aem gauges?

Autometer is good.

Awesome, I'll have to pick up some for sure. The only reason im asking these questions is because this going to pretty tight budget build and i only want to buy what is necessary and later on when more $$$ starts rolling in, i'll go for the more bling parts. Does anyone think i'll need a turbo timer?? or this just a waste.

My electronic boost gauge was not correct at all, and could not be calibrated. So I had to purchase a mechanical gauge also, so I still have the electronic one, laying around. Also my oil pressure gauge has to be taped on to make it work, has done this since new. I havent even put in my water temp gauge because, I don't feel like doing it all to have it not work, haha. These were all purchased brand new from prosport directly.
