When installing an aftermarket boost gauge on a ca18, where is the best place to tap into to read the boost? a line going into the intake manifold or a line coming off the turbo? i really am not sure. please help me.

well i would think you would want it closest to the intake manifold cuz then it would account for presure drop in the piping and intercooler, if you have it right off the turbo, the motor could be accually recieving less than your boost gauge is showing. that would be my guess anyways

On my turbo engine, not a CA18DET but a C20GET, I tapped in to the hose from the intake to the boost solenoid.

You should be able to tap in to any vacuum source off the intake. However watch out for hoses that have 1-way valves built in somewhere along the hose. Those are designed to only allow vacuum to reach the end of the line, not boost.

What about the line for the FPR, If you have it secured it seems to work...
