Hey guys, I almost feel ashamed to ask this but can somebody tell me how you hooked up your boost gauge? I was thinking about tapping into the FPR line...will that work?

On the manifold near the TB is the perfect spot for that.

You can see it clearly in this picture which davidricardo86 kindly posted in my butterflyvalve thread.

You can see where the TB would be connected to the manifold, directly behind that is a an air line.

You just need a source from the manifold, there are a few places you can get it. On the very back there is another line.

It depends on the boost gauge. If you've got a mechanical boost gauge, then you just need a T, maybe some vac line (they often have plenty with them) and the actual gauge. If it's an electrical boost gauge, then it's more complicated. The instructions in the gauge will tell you what you need to do. Still the same basic pricipal, but you'll have a power wire, a ground, a signal wire, and an illumination wire.

As of right now, that hose behind the throttle body is running to my purge canister. Can i just disconnect it from the canister side and hook up the gauge, or should i use a T connection?

Hey float, would you recommend a mechanical or electrical gauge? Is one more accurate than the other? I was thinking about picking one up from autozone for like $40

If you've got emmissions you'll need to leave it hooked up and T off of it. If no, then just uplug it.

I've got an autometer Mechanical that I've been using for about 3 years now. It works alright, but I question it's accuracy as it doesn't set at 0 anymore when the car is off.

Ok, well thanks for the info float. I am probably going to use an autometer for now, then maybe get a better one one day when I have money.
