I was getting pretty lazy so I finally intalled that blitz sbc id, the solenoid has been hanging out in my room in a corner for weeks. Anyways, the vacuum detect about 7.9 psi peak boost during the time it was not installed.

I installed the solenoid then cranked it to 10psi, I figured that since I am already running rich, 2 psi more won't hurt. I was going through the settings when a "gain" showed up. The manual suggest that this dictate response and is usually 5 to 15 % on stock setup so I just set it to 5%, took it for a spin and got to 9.2 psi so I guess it works...

but I still don't know what gain is and what it should set at.

gain helps the boost hold steady. right now, if you were to set it around 10% you would get higher boost, but much more stead boost. set it too high and the boost will spike/creep. set it too low and the boost will fall off.

ohh thanks, I guess I will set it to 10%

I guess that's why it seems harder to boost earlier when I drove to school but didn't pay too much attention to know what's going on.

Move the gain up as high as you can before it starts to spike. From there you can reduce the duty and see if you can give it more gain. The benefit will be better boost response.

The trick is to get the gain / duty to a certain ratio so that it hits and stays on your target boost pressure, but you have enough gain to quantify a better response.

It's the larger number you input... ie. 35 on the first menu. Only in manual mode.
