Ok im loosing serious power when i boost, once i hit 1psi =(, i lose power and thesound of the engine because muffled and farty, but more than anything i lose power and boost does not hold.

Ive messed with the BOV so far and that really didnt do much. I turned my manual boost control all the way down(closed) but the turbo still tries to reach 10psi........

Also, ive had problems with my o2 housing bolts coming loose.....would a leak from the wastegate area of the turbo to the o2 extension be the culprit of this loss of power?

What could be causing this? Plz help desperate silvia wannabe is in dire straits(sp?)!!!!

Yes, the leak will prevent the turbo to spool up as quickly.. I am in the process of replacing my o2 extension gasket now. It feels okay under full throttle when the revs are up, but you will experience major turbo lag if there is a leak.

I fyou are talking about the gasket between the turbine housing and the turndown with the o2 on it, that will not keep you from boost, because that is after the turbine. it will make alot of noise because it is not seated right but that is about it. As to what the problem is I would say check your waste gate and the waste gate vacume lines to make sure that there are no kinks And also check for leaks in the intercooler piping. Even check the welds for the BOV flange if it was welded. I can tell you one thing for sure and that is that the gasket is not the problem.

Where are you getting your wastegate "Signal" from?

The only thing you can do is to find the boost/vacuum leak. As far as that gasket goes you would actually spool up faster if any but you can go to the nissan dealer and get one from a 300zx turbo manni. Thats what I did. if your having problems with the bolts coming out your not using the lock washers opr torquing to the right specs. Have you made any changes to your setup since this started or before this started happening?

oops... yea, I meant if the leak was before the turbo you will notice increased turbo lag,.. you wont notice if its a gasket after the turbo. Mine is leaking right after the manifold to the turbo and replaced that gasket with a 300zx's.
