I am have blown my head gasket and I am going to replace the engine rather than mess with the currrent engine. I want to buy the boost designs "built turbo block" and then add the port and polish head. Has anyone purchased this setup or anything like it? Is the engine as clean as it is in the picture? Also I contacted Boost Designs and they said that the head would be torqued down and could include the stock valvetrain but not cams. Is there anything else I would have to do to the engine other than install cams to have it run? What type of numbers could I expect with a stage one turbo kit running 8lbs of boost? Any info would help...

I havn't heard of anyone buying one of their built blocks yet. It should be as clean as in the picture since they say its "vatted and cleaned". Unless you get the stage 2 you will need fuel upgrades (injectors, fuel pump, etc.), and you would still need some kind of tuning (Enthalpy or JWT ecu's with a MAF (like 300zx MAF), or some sort of piggyback or standalone). You'll also probably need a better clutch (unless you get the stage 3 kit).Your hp numbers depend on what kind of engine management and tuning, which exhaust and downpipe, what kind of cams and headwork, what kind of dyno you test it on, etc. If you're gonna get a rebuilt motor and forged pistons and stuff, i would run higher than 8 psi.hope that helped
