What I wanna know is what are the advantages of having a boost controller mounted in the engine bay compared to the ones that are inside the car...

Any advantages besides obviously its right there to control at the touch of a button...

Its really easy to blow up your engine if you have it mounted in the cabin.(this Z06 is NOT faster than my 240 )

No real advantages other than the one you already stated. I would think that the BC in the engine bay would be more reliable and faster acting, less vac line to run, and less chance of failure though.

hell my homemade unit worked great, under hood. I have my generic(could also be made at home but was cheaper online than buying the parts) in between, I have it where I need to get out for changes but dont need to open my hood to make them. spikes are more prone on in cabin mounted units, due to longer time to fill the long vac lines and move the ball... they tend to blow engines in the cab from what 480sx said, you turn it up a little without testing and nail it to run someone and pop goes you motor, cause you turned the knob slightly too much in the excitment. Mine has little spiking with the in between setup I have

yah thats another reason im going for the bay mounted one, i would get mad or excited and crank the boost up so much that i would destroy the engine....but for the bay mounted how do u tell how much psi you are runing/?

well if its mounted in the engine bay, u adjust the knob, make the run, watch the psi level, then remember what the gauge said..........if ur gauge has a peak boost memory on it, then just see what that read. i myself have been debating switching out my mbc for an ebc but i've yet to come across a price tempting enough for me to do the switch...............
