yeah, got some question...

1) I was wondering if a boost controller can control a stock turbo with a stock non-adjustbale acuator? (garrett t28 to be exact)

2) does boost controller have built in boost status... like boost gauge showing how much psi I am boosting?

3) lastly, how come I see more people getting boost gauge instead of hks wastegate acuator? is there something better about boost controller? I don't intend to change the boost setting after I get it tuned....

1) Yes2) Electric ones do, yes3) Boost controllers are boost controllers. The difference is: -Electric have several nice features! Different boost levels that can be changed with the turn of a dial or the push of a button. So you can have 7psi for the drive to work and in a flash jump to 14psi to kill that Z28 on the way home. Things like peak hold, scramble, and other nice data outputs is a plus, but not necessary.

Manual/Wastegate Boost controllers are set at a specific level and cannot change unless you physically change them. I have an HKS actuator about to go on because with the T25G, I can limit boost with my right foot anyway since it is so responsive.

Since you only want 1 setting, save the $$$ and get the HKS unit.

i have the HKS unit, and it is nice. But to change boost settings is a pain. First, you drive the car and find out what the boost is set at, then you have to wait for the car to cool down so you can unhook the actuator arm from the wastegate, srew in/out the arm to change boost and repeat. It can take a good half an hour to set your boost with it.

One thing I like about it is that it doesn't creep. When my turbo hits 13 PSI, it stays there.

Eventually I would like to upgrade to an electronic boost controller, but that's a ways down the road since they're so freaking expensive

what is creep? is that like boost spike?

the way I see it is that a good eletronic boost gauge, such as greddy will cost about 150, hks acuator will cost 100 so that's 250 already.

but uh-oh, enjuku sell "greddy Profec B Spec-II Electronic Boost Controller" at 300 and "Blitz DUAL SBC SPEC S Electronic Boost Controller" at 330 and the ebay price is about -50... making boost controller seems more appealing: about the same price...

what do you think?

is greddy Profec B Spec-II Electronic Boost Controller better or Blitz DUAL SBC SPEC S Electronic Boost Controller?

I have a BLITZ SBC i-D and it has a boost/vac gauge, although I don't have an actual boost gauge so I don't know if the numbers convert into actual PSI or BAR or what not.
