Boost controller/Turbo timer in ash tray? (S14)

I'm going to start putting my gauges in the little cup thing under my stereo, but I have my turbo timer/boost controller there (both greddy), I was going to put them in that little box thing on the armrest, but I need to see the boost controller to read my boost and adjust it and such. I also use the turbo timer to read my speed past 120.

I was looking and it appears that it will fit perfectly in the ashtray thingies. I want the whole sleeper look so I was thinking I could put the in there and still close it and such. So I can just open it when I’m driving and close it otherwise. Seems like a really good idea, I did minor measurements and it looks like it'll fit, since it's almost in the same location I won't even have to move wires around.

Has anyone else done this? Also, what would be a good way to mount it in there but still have the ability to remove them fairly easily (glue isn’t an option) could I make some sort of bracket that I can bolt onto it or something? I'm just looking for some ideas. If anyone cares for it I’ll make some sort of write-up to show how I do it.

i put my Turbo timer in the ashtray, had to cut the back off it so i could get it to fit. for right now i have a peice of black tool box foam holding it in place. its hard to read at that angle i have to lean forward and over to read it. i like the way it worked out though

I really want to be able to read the boost controller though.. Do you have pix of it?

I've seen it done before...you can fit it in the ashtray, you just have to be creative.

check my setup out. i had a safc in the ashtrey and it fit perfectly. i dont have a pic of that though. the pics are of when i was still workin on them "test fit". they look better now.
