Ok so my boost controller was working a week ago when I did my 2nd gear boost "test" (recently changed to 5 speed) but today, I hit the freeway and I only got 2 psi

I could hear the wastegate openning at just about 0.0 pressure. It usually does this, but usually the boost controller shuts it down tight from 2.0 psi all the way to 6.0 psi. No luck today though, the boost controller didn't shut the wastegate at all!

Vaccuum readings are about (-9) - (-10) at idle.

Boost controller in question is a GReddy Profec E-01, on a KA-t

Manual Boost modeBoost 20% Gain 10Start Boost 2.0Tial 35mm W/G with a 4.35 psi spring

I need to let everyone know that I also DON'T HAVE AN EFFING CLUE about what i'm doing. I just put in those numbers to see if it was working before I hit the dyno. Please criticize my setup!

my idle vaccum is -20ish psi. i dont know anything about the E-01 sorry. the boost controller wouldnt make the wastegate open sooner than it should tho. maybe your wastegate spring is worn out

Yes, my boost/vacuum gauge reads ~ -20 in.Hg @ idle as well.

-9 or -10 is too low (err, high) and not normal; there's definitely a problem with some of your vacuum/boost lines--check for possible leaks/holes, even those going to the gauge itself.

that would make sense. if its not reading enough vaccum and not enough boost it may jsut be the gauge/gauge vaccum. does the car feel as fast as it did before?

The car always ran on that vaccuum ever since day one of being boosted. Maybe I always had a severe leak in the system?

Without clamping the wastegate my car is slow as cold molassese. It takes really long to hit 2.0 psi.

I should check all my connections from the turbo outlet to the throttle body?

yea u must have a boost leak somewhere. when does it reach 2psi?

It struggles to hit 2 psi... im thinking somewhere near 4000 rpms. Usually I hit max boost long before that.

I'm trying to figure out whether its,A) Boost controller not clamping the w/g (which it isnt)B) Boost leak

would a boost leak make it hard for the boost controller to clamp the wastegate shut?

Right now the wastegate is openning at 0.0! its soo frustrating.

the boost controller isnt going to make the wastegate open sooner than its spring. are you sure its opening? i guess you can hear. i think then that the wastegate srping has gone bad and is way too weak now to hold boost
