i have a hallman manuel boost controller and i know its hooked up right. and i know people with 500hp cars using the same boost controller i have.i can turn the damn thing all the way up and it doesnt boost any higher.

When you pick it up and shake it you can hear the ball and spring move back and forth almost like the spring isnt long enough?

did i get a bad boost controller? or could the ball and spring be backwards?please help

thanks

did you try cranking the thing all the way down and see if it changes anything?

if you hear the spring and the ball move inside then there's no load on the spring, therefore it's not holding pressure.

loosen the nut and then turn the knob down until the spring stop moving and you should feel some resistance from the spring.

make sure all the connection are tight and not leaking

also, how are your lines hooked up ?

probably your boost controller if its rattling around like that. try running with the vacuum line to the wastegate off (carefully) and see if the boost goes really high. if it still doesn't, something is wrong with your wastegate and the boost is self regulating cuz the wastegate is being blown open

my old waste gate actuator was bent and the wastegate stayed closed all the time. and it spiked to 18 and then i caught it. got a new one put it on and hooked up this boost controller.

i have the one side hooked up to vacum from my intake manifold and the otehr side going into the wastegate.

i know its hooked up right. ill try and post some pics a little bit later but the tracks opened tonight at 5 so i dont have much time. haha i wanted to try and run 12psi tonight.
