hi, i recentally installed my ca. a guy at my work looked over it and said im missing a boost control sileniod, therefor im on safety boost (7psi). i installed a boost gauge and sure enough, im pushin 7 psi. i also don't have the vacuum canister, or check valves installed yet, but i do have them. im just waiting for the weather to get better for installation.

my question is. where is the boost control silenoid located, and can i up the boost via controller without the sileniod, or would that be bad? also, where can i get one?

i have the following upgrades:sr t25cometic hgarp studs.

my plan is to get a walbro pump, and fmic.

is 12 psi too-much, or what. thanks

If you bought a boost controller, you don't need the stock solenoid.

Don't up the boost at all on the stock pump w/o a wideband to monitor AFR's. Once you get the walbro you'll be fine.

If you need to increase the boost all the time get an adjustable actuator. It will do better than 15 feet of hose into your cabin to connect to a glorified bleed valve.

I've built both and I liked the one I posted better. I had to make about 3 trips to the hardware store to get the right spring for the one the other guy posted.

I also didn't mount it inside. It took longer to adjust because I had to pull over every time, BUT it worked better than my old HKS EVC (the old one with just the knob and a power button) did. Boost came on much faster and only spiked in 1st gear.

check your vacuum lines, from the wastegate actuator to the fpr etc.. mine is setup wastegate to fpr then t'd off to the butterfly valves... i also dont have the solenoid, however your wastegate actuator controls boost so i dont think its a big deal, pretty sure the solenoid is mainly used at idle? anyways i have a mbc hooked up and it works ok, just be careful with raising boost.

the ecu is said to be able to take upto 15 psi. so therefore it is said you can run 14 psi safely... so yeah 12 should be fine
