Hi guys, I have a couple of question concerning boost and turbo.

What is the stock turbo boost on the VG30DETT ?

Is there 2 wastegates on these engine ?

Where are the most common leaks of vacuum or boost lines on these engines ?

Phil, Thanks

Stock boost is 9 Psi
Each Turbo comes with a wastegate
Common leaks are found on the old dinged leaky stock SMICs, old leaky worn out stock BOVs, Carbon Canister, small vacuum lines on the side of the turbo's near the wastegate solenoids, loose hose clams on the turbos and intercooler piping, and various other places.

Guessing that you have boost leak, your best bet would be to get a boost leak tester from Z1 motorsports or your favorite store specializing Z32 parts and accessories. This will help you pinpoint exactly where the leak is coming from.

OK, so how much additionnal boost can I give to the engine to have more power but also thinking of safety for the engine ?

(By safety I mean = breaking the engine !)

Also is there somebody that did this on there engine successfully ?

Phil, Thanks

I havent done it yet BUT you can safely run around 14psi, 16psi is pushing it it all depends on how well the car is tuned. In research I've found the stock internals (pistons, rods, etc.) can handle UP TO the 500-600HP range

everyone does it. that's the point of having a tt.. you can do this simple mod and add on 60hp. Just buy an ECU (Jim wolf, Z1, etc) pop in the boost jets (or get a boost controller) and enjoy.
