So, I had my shop weld on a new straight pipe yesterday. I get in afterwards and my car is skipping like crazy, not accelerating quickly or consistently, will barely move, and eventually dies a few hundred yards from my house...... WTF!!! What could it be now!!! Another f'ing problem!! God this is such a headache....Why dont I just sell this damn car and get something that's reliable and fun! I was pissed.

So I walk home cussing as my brain starts reeling about what it could be...It didn't smell like it was getting gas. It was sparking and trying to turn; but just wouldn't.....fuel pump, the 2nd hand injectors I put in, the old fuel filter, blah blah blah....

I get home in a rage, and tell my GF what happened......She could tell I was ticked and damn near fed up with this car...Innocently, she says, "Well, is it out of gas?".............

Hmmmmmm, well my gas gauge hasn't worked for a couple years.....I guess it's a possibility.....But I should have another 50 miles on this tank, according to my trip....

I guess I didn't think about all the tuning I have been doing while it's sitting.....

$5 worth of 91, a little humility, and I drove it back home, no problems...

Moral of the story, don't get too riled up about a problem. Sometimes it's right in front of your face.

Yeah, I think the "out of gas" theory entered my head for a split second; but was quickly kicked out by my theories of fuel delivery/pressure problems. Problems never seem to end with this car, so I immediately assumed something more expensive/difficult to diagnose....

The reason my girl asked, was she actually had a car towed 25 miles, only to find out it was out of gas........oh well, at least she's hot. I'm not in love with her brain.

oh yeah, and I filled up at $2.08 for 91 octane..

2.08 is awesome I'm paying 2.49ish and I think if that happened to me not that my gauge is broken or anything I don't think I would ever here the end of it. Hopefully she doesn't rub it in.

str33tprintzI know man. I'm trying to play it off cool, so maybe she'll forget about it. Like I thought of it first; but dismissed it due to how it was running.....then go into some technical babble, so she spaces out......

maybe that will work....probably not.

lol..to put in my little tid bit about a girl showing you up when something breaks down. I was working on my old mud truck last summer putting a disc brake kit on it since it had drums all around. Got the brake swap done and didnt have any pressure. I checked all the fittings and couldnt find anything, go inside and tell her whats up with it. She tells me to go put brake fluid in it and leaves it at that lol that was the dumbest i ever felt since she doesnt know the difference between the brake and the clutch lol
