Ok, here's my input. I've never been on that course, so I can't tell you the benefits or downsides of it. From what it sounds like, it'll be a blast. How could you NOT enjoy it?
You have to weigh the benefits and downsides of each, and decide which option will benefit you the most. If I was in your shoes, I wouldn't give the motor a second thought. I'd be talking with Heavy Throttle right now arranging shipping and the such. Yes, the track will be a lot of fun, but once that fun is over, what do you have to show for it? Experience, yes. But is it really worth $4000? I don't know what your financial situation looks like, what kind of job you have, or what kind of savings you currently hold. But for me, that's a LOT of money, and definitely way more than I'm willing to spend for a little more driving experience.
With a new motor, you'll enjoy it every day you'll drive, and you'll gain plenty of experience driving a faster car, too. Every time you hear that BOV go off during a shift, you'll slap yourself for even thinking about spending that much money on a few day road course school.
But of course, this is all my opinion. I would enjoy the motor much more (not to mention I drive 2,000 miles a month, so I'd enjoy it a lot, lol).
Nick.
