bolted crank?

hey all. i got a TT motor and i pulled off the oil pan and noticed that the counterweight in the middle of the crank has been bolted to the crank. thats makin me wonder has anybody seen this before and is it common. or have i got a motor thats seeming to be a little shady

Everyone of them are bolted. It is good practice to weld the counter weight bolt to the counter weight then have the crank balanced. Nothing new or wrong with your engine.

thanks man ill now sleep easier knowing that there all that way. i dont think ill be welding the bolts down tho caus im not planing on removing the crank. but that sure dosnt sound like a bad idea. thanx for the help.
