4x114.3 aka: 4x4.57" wide with a zero to about +10 mm will fit without issues, the bolt patern is the easy part, the low to no offset is the issue

I think you can get up to about a +20 with a 7" but you'll want to measure carefully before buying wheels

okay, not to threadjack, but So that fits on a 280ZX, but how about a 280Z?

What kind of backset is too much if I want to go with either 16" or 17" rims and maybe 205 or 215 wide tires. I really like how the Panasport rims look but it would be hard to find them especially in the size I want. I also don't want to rub my fenders on them either...

S30 fits the same, and panasport makes the correct offset for the Z, they have been very popular on Z's for many many years, minilites offer similar style as well as the newer Konig rewinds, shelby and wantabe's even made a strikingly similar 8 spoke wheel fitted to these cars, sportmax also makes a similar wheel now

As for backspace I believe it's 4" with stock suspension, and about 5.25 with coil overs

Wheels that fit AE86s will fit, they are plentiful and all over ebay.

yup a lot of the old Toys used the same bolt circle and offset, the celica supra 14x7's a a great junkyard find, there has been a lot of newer wheels for this offset with the recent popularity of these cars but still a fraction of the market compared to the the high positive 4x100

So how hard is it to change the bolt pattern, to say 5 lug? w/o adapters that is.

you can run front hubs form a 5 lug z31 but this wil require some brake upgrading as well and it increases the front offset a bit earlier hubs will add less than later hubs, in the rear you have to add a litte metal and redrill, Modern Motorsports sells converted rear stub axles as well as billit frotn hubs that retain stock offset

Are the Z31 Hubs all 5 on 4.5? and how much of an offset change are we talking about? if it's larger then maybe use those on the front and adapters on the rear. Phar

84-85 Z31 n/a's used 4 lug 4x4.5, then in 86 they all got 5 lug 5x4.5, the offset I belive is from +20 to +30, and I couldn't tell you which had what but I'd bet it's on AZ Zbums site, which I believe equates to needing a rear spacer of about 1/4" inch (I think? too tired to do the math) this would be too thin to run an adapter int he rear, also for the cost of adapters you could buy the modern motorsports 5 lug axles, and if you were to just try running spacers and 4 lug rears you have to swap in longer wheel studs as the stockers are pretty short

Ooh, okay, and I just happen to have an 86 300Z spare car sitting around...

Sounds like those fronts and the MSA rears would be the way to go then. What about the brakes? will the 86' Front Disks also work if I do this swap? but then what of swapping the rear to 5 Lug, I couldn't use the 280ZX rear discs either. is it as easy as finding 5 lug discs w/ the same diameter, I'd imagine?

The Spindles shouldn't affect any of the brake bracketry...?
