Looking for any tips/tricks on installing a bolt in cage.

it's a East Bear 8pointer. (looks like a Cusco 8pt thought)

i put the hoop in that goes behind the drivers seat but i'm not 100% sure where to drill the holes through it gave some metal plates to use but just not 100% sure.

then what? do the part that goes by the dash? then the bar that goes by the mirror then the rear? or what?

any useful tips? yes i read the writeup but that's only for the rear section.

I did a whole writeup.

I guess when it was "reposted", they only posted the rear section.

anywho, let me try and help right now.

first, do the main hoop, then do the "down" bars to the rear wheel area. The metal base plates go under the car. .Cage - car - plate.

The main hoop will get pretty snug in the right position. Did you take out the tar? left it in? I've done it both ways. S14 - left tar in. S13, stripped it.

after you do that main "4 point" thing, work into the front part.

Do the "a pillar" bars and then do the top bar in front of your head. Please make sure to bolt everything together first, then tighten it all afterwards.

doing it alone sucks.

I put my s14 cage in by myself. it sucks BAD. don't try it.

Yep, putting in a full cage by yourself sucks balls.

Make sure you put the cage together entirely first, then bolt it to the floor. That way you can move it around to exactly where you want it before permanently fastening it to the car.

Yeah you need a buddy but this is how I did mine. I just put it together in the car without bolting it in. Got it all lined up and drilled pilot holes. Then got the correct bit and drilled the holes to size and bolted it down. The hardest part was setting it up in place.

If you MUST do it by yourself, this will be the best part...

putting in the rear down bars.

You need to be under the car and in the car at the same time. How do you do this?

I managed to be in the wheel well, under the car, and used an open end wrench to put on the bolt IN the car. You have to wedge the wrench between the car and the car metal so it stays there. This was such a b****.

Thanks for the help guys. i got my buddy to come out and give me a hand for a little bit.

i got it in for the most part except for the rear bars, i think i have to cut where the rear seats were to get to where i bolt it in (next to the rear shock towers)

thanks for the help.
