Ok so ive checked and rechecked every wire on this friggin thing. wont rev past 2.5K RPMS so 99% chance its the maf.

the Z32 maf is wired as per instructions of heavy throttle, and every other site ive been to. Pin B- white wirePin C- grounded to chassisPin D- black wirePin E- Black/white wire

SAFC NEO is set to hot wire, 2 in 6 out. reading is 0.005v at idle, about 0.04V. when i punch it. single maf setting.

So what the crap?! do those maf readings seem a bit low? shouldnt it be about 0.05 at idle and not 0.005?

im gonna try and clean out the element with some spray, if it doesnt work, im towing this damn thing to a shop. Ive been working on this car for 3 months now and this is the ONLY thing not working!

I dont know the SAFC in and out code. But, I do think that voltage is way low. Clean the MAF, but i think you its more serious and you have a bad MAF. Possibly a bad ground. Have you tried wiring the MAF ground back into the stock SR MAF ground wire? my friends Z31 freaked out when he made a good ground to the Chassis.

yeah i tried grounding the maf to the chassis and also connected both grounds to the black wire....

I just cleaned it and im still getting the same readings.

looks like my only option is to drink myself to death.

You should see around 1.7v at idle on a cold warmup and 2.0 at 1500 when hot. Those are approximate values all MAFs have slightly diff voltages but all are 5v systems and even 1v isn't a lot of diff to them. However the 0.005 is so low I wouldn't trust the volt meter is reading anything at all. Are you back probing the harness directly at the MAF? Also can you verify that the MAF is getting power and that the ECM and Chassis grounds are good (the resistance will be diff but it should still be single digit Ohms).

the voltage numbers i am getting are coming from the SAFC themselves. im going to tow the car tomorrow to a shop and have them take a look at it. thanks for the input though guys.

haha i tried the 2 in and 5 out, same thing though.

well i tested out the voltage today.i tested out the wires right at the end of the pigtail on the maf and this is what i got.black/white wire- 14V with engine runningwhite shielded wire... 0V with engine running.

so looks like i got a bad maf

anyone in so cal wanna sell me a WORKING N62 maf? i told everyone in my car club i would make it to my monday night meet to show the car for the first time, and all it needs is a new maf!
