sounds to me like a big air leak. check ALL the pipes, especially the ones around whatever intercooler you have. with a given pipe disconnected (or a gash in silicone/rubber couplings or pipes, those are comon on old engines), the engine will still run.it'll run like ****, but with feathering of the throttle, it will run.
check to see if you can get it to rev at about 2500 rpms-ish. if it cuts out right at that area, check your MAF sensor clip. make sure it's 100% clipped, and un-fuc*ed.
if this works, get it to run and then turn the motor off and disconnect the negative side of the attery for a little while. i don't know if there's a set time or anything, but this will reset anything your computer is thinking. i'd say 5 minutes, hook it back on, and give it 'er rip.
one more thing: were you trying to drive the car with it like this? i had to do super clutch working and throttle control to make it home one night. what normally took me 15 minutes took about an hour and a half, and pulling into my driveway, a small slope up, took about 15 minutes. hahaha
if you WERE driving it, did you notice your fuel gauge going WAY down, way too quick? if you did, then it's definitely an air leak. your computer's all confused so it's dumping all kinds of fuel into the motor to compensate. but that's not good; this is why you disconnect the battery to let it reset.
good luck! if this doesn't work, i suggest buying a couple packs of redbull.
