finally got the car back, after the 8 week swap! lil prob..

the idle is around 800, and you can see the needle go up and down slightly. when you get on it, after about 3k it bogs when i try to go full throttle. if i take tach up slowly it all goes up fine. same thing with all other gears, if i slowly raise the tach it does make boost but it seems to be all choppy and boggs as if it doesn't have enough fuel.

i've got a brand new walbro, am running stock boost, and have a new fuel filter (300zx). i pulled the plugs and they are kinda weird, the tips are a little whiter than they should be (ex: not tan).

is it possible that the injectors are clogged (from sitting around too long)? is this common? any other thoughts?

took it for a good 80mi to break it in, egt's and water temps look ok, but i rarely took it about 4k.

Might be running to rich because of the fuel pump.

mmmm.shouldn't be that much of a problem with a fuel pump. When mine started doing that my clutch was very lightly slipping. I had a centerforce clutch and it would bog but i couldn't see it on the tach. Then later on it got to where I could see the rpms bounce around.

Check your TPS and timing.

there are two black wires in the bacl of the motor....make sure u got the right one.....

also hoepfully whoever dod ur wiring harness didnt tape the lead wire in with the harness.....that'll be less than fun fishing it out...

im taking it back to the place that swapped it in to have him take a look at it, i dont want to screw up a really fresh install and motor.

phase2 did the wiring so im sure they didn't tape it up....

haha we keep bumping heads in here at a bunch of threads :)....anywho theres no way in hell phase2 would screw up a harness even a little.....they got alot of experience with SRs

Try to see if u can dig up another wire back there cause there are 2 loose ones and if neither work try the coilpack method listed in the FSM

i looked at the fsm coilpack method, and all they supply is a bunch of badly drawn images, and its like they are speaking in german. im fairly good with stuff but i want the mechanic to check over a couple other things as well, including possible transmission leak :(

use the diagnostic loop at the back of the coilpack harness to check your timing. plenty of threads on how to do this.

the bogging, did you check your mafs or coolant temp sensor?

if it was the mafs it wouldn't go past 2.5k

coolant temp sensor... that would affect bogging?

it could but startup when hot would be ungodly as well......twice weve forgot to plug the temp sensor to the ecu back in and the car would have the worst time starting when hot (ecu thought engine was stone cold so it was retarding timing, adding TONS of fuel and using a small amount of spark) we had to pull the fuel pump fuse and crank it until it would kick over then throw the fuse back in....i went thru 3 sets of plusg in a couople dayshahabut if it starts up perfect hot or cold then ur temp sensor to the ecu must be fine

Have your injectors cleaned and check your timing. Very nice clean looking car by the way.

thanks, i spent 5-6 hours cleaning it the other day :)

turned out to be the maf. my friend is also doing the swap so i borrowed his maf, and it PULLS LIKE A MOTHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im going to recheck timing tomorrow because i screwed with it a little trying to adjust the problem. egts seems to be good but may be slightly higher than normal, but all in all its running great.

i really think this car on stock boost is faster than my old one at 10psi. i went from 60mph to 85mph in about 3 seconds (and have a video to prove it :) ) let me know if you guys wanna watch it, ill post it somewhere.
