So i timed it with the alternator and water pump not hooked up to my pulley and i got the timing right on, the cas was practically right in the middle. Then i timed it again after i put my radiator back in and the belt back and timing was off. To get it to the third notch from the right (15 degrees) i had to turn the cas all the way to the right ( or retard it all the way) .... seems like it shouldn't be there.

Also, when i drive it. If i touch the gas pedal even slightly more than 1/8th throttle it bogs like there is no tomorrow... wtf. I think it only does this under load.

It does this when the maf is both unplugged and plugged in. But when it's unplugged it doesnt wanna stay running.

HELP!

Slightly offset from middle is the correct point.

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

Thats why I took digi pics of it first.

It should be just off center, and be happy there. I wish I had more info. The FSM states how to diagnosis and adjust it. If you try moving it a hair here and there in the just off centered position, you should get it, may take a few tries though. Good luck

Run the codes and make sure you're not getting a knock sensor code. When we did the 450sx it ran funny until we fixed the knock sensors. If you dont already have one get a consult adapter to keep an eye on things.
