I'm having an issue with my RB20 bogging down at low rpm. When taking off giving a normal/low amount of gas, the car will bog down for a second or 2 while it gains speed and then regain power around 3500-4500 rpm's. It really takes off when power comes back. The issue is very hard to describe. Here is another situation. After slowing to 10-15 mph, put in 2nd gear, and giving the car normal/low gas the car will bog down, if I give it more gas the car acts like its being held back until it eventually gets up in rpm's and then takes off with the quickness around 4000 rpm's.

What I done so far.New coolant temp sensor - This helped a bitCleaned out MAF. - Also helped someChecked for boost leaks - Can't see any issues.

I've read through about 20 different threads with similar but different issues. Any help would be great.

Thanks for the reply KUILLIN. I'll switch mine out for a friends and see how it does.

Do maf just start giving bad readings before they are completely dead? Or just mine to f* with me?

Thanks for the help!

Hey, i wanted to bump this thread because my car runs exactly the same, its an rb20 in an s13 also. I have a walbro 255 but i have a nismo fpr on, the fuel pressure is correct, but the car reeks of gas and off of boost it seems to take forever to get up to speed. The car runs good at high rpms under boost, but driving normal it is luggish and smeels like gas. Any ideas, maybe coolant temp ecu sensor?

commonly a maf problem. If you switch mafs and it is still spazzing out put a wideband on it and check for lean/rich conditions when its bogging.
