ka24deso far i've replaced knock sensor, which fixed the bog when car is warmed up, and i've replaced Coolant temp sensor, cap/rotor/wires/plugs/fuel filter ,,, could an 02 sensor cause a bog when cold???

the only thing left for me to replace is 02 and fuel pump (walbro is just sitting in my room)

how does the engine react when you turn the a/c on? If it boggs the same you may need a regulator valve replaced. If so i have one.

i dont know how it acts with it on since i took it out, no compressor, no evaporator, nothing

it bogs whenever i go to the next gear at first when i give it gas, but right after the bog i can rev all the way up with no problem,

but when its warmed up it acts normal

well its tough to check the mechanical function of the valve now without it...you got a sohc, right?its gonna be in a different place from my dohc, but this air regulator valve controls the fast idle of the engine when its cold or when the a/c is on.

Do you still have the blowers/fan connected? If so you can put them on setting #4 and the engine should idle up or bog down if weve found your problem.

If not at all, the valve should be somewhere below/ above the center of the intake runners. Its the same color as the intake manifold and has a long pointing shaft coming out to the sensor wires.

okay then ill tell you exactly where to find it.look down between the 2nd and 3rd intake runners. you should see a small black hose coming out the end of the device. pinch it to see if there is a difference when the car is cold. if it bogs a lot, it still works. if only a little, then this is it.

sorry, i havent had a chance to try that tip out.. I had to do a brake upgrade on my se-r (nx brakes). So that took up most of my day, and now the 240 is parked in front of all of the cars in the driveway so it's not coming out for a couple of days.

I'll let u know. THANKS

hey, i finally got a vice grip on that hose and it bogged less!!!

so that means that this is the culprit , right?

It doesnt look fun to replace, but anybody know the cheapest place to get one of these?
