Alright I am a new Z owner. I have always wanted one and finally got one a few weeks ago and im learning something new every day about them. Everything seems to be good on it but recently when i was looking under the hood i saw what i am pretty sure is a vaccum hose not hooked up to anything so i hooked it up and then when i start the car it will start then immediately die and most times not even start again. So i went back and unplugged the hose again and the car runs fine. I know the hose should be hooked up so what else is causing this?

Thanks !

Im gonna throw this out there, is it on the passenger side toward the back? If so it may be your EGR malfunctioning when you plug it in, sounds like exactly what happens when the egr is opening too soon or all the time.

I will post some pictures tonight. And I do apologize for the incorrect posting section. It is on the passenger side but it is towards the front. Looks like it connects to one of the main intake tubes that then goes directly to the engine. Don't know if that description is accurate but I will get some pics up here ASAP.

Does it connect to the top of the pipe or the bottom?

Your idle is set too low. That hose being unplugged is putting more air in the engine keeping it from dying. It also may be the IACV may be dirty. Everything in here should or hopefully get you in the right direction.

Are those the G35 wheels? How do you like them? Sorry to get off topic.

I believe being a 5 speed, it should set at 750-800, maybe even lower. I would really look into the IACV maybe take it off and give it a good clean. I know one of these guys on here sprays wd-40 in the to lubricate it every so often, like every six months. Then after that set the idle, even maybe play with the idle before cleaning see what happens.

I really wanted to get the G35 19" rays, but those rims are just too big for my taste. The wheels are gorgeous, but I like my kidneys. The wheels on your car look good, I may actually look into them, but keeping my options open.

Yeah that's kind of what I thought. Ok I will try that today and see if I can figure it out. I'll post back later with any progress or problems!

Thanks again!

Yeah those are good lookin wheels but I think 19s are just too big too.
