For drifting, what parts of your body (human body) have to be strongest?

Edit: I'm not gona drift my Camry. I'm planning on buying an S14. But anyway, I heard lsd jerks a lot. Is that true? If it is, would you need lotsa arm muscles? If so, what part of the arm?

Your arms. It gets tiring sticking your arm out the window and waving every time you pull off a nice drift.

Is this thread for real? Of course a clutch-type LSD jerks/pops/skips on low speed, tight corners (think parking speeds), but not on a drift. If it does, you are doing something VERY wrong. Drifting is supposed to be smooth. Fluid motions.

Body workouts... hahahaha. We all better join a gym!

b/c drift...crash...no more car for the whole family...so each person would need to buy a bicycle like in china, given that your family is so poor yal can only afford 1 car and insurance won't pay b/c u crashed into the damn telephone pole yourself and you didn't get collision coverage cuz it's too exp for you

b/c coupe=less space compared to sedan.

b/c family car=family road trips...s14!=family road trip

Well what if you have a family car and no family? Besides alot of people that get S13/14s either dont drift or have another car they can fall back on. If you do have a family though, coupe/drifting=no good.

i only know of people who call their 4 door sedan a family car if they have a family themselves. plus, im not even sure if i'm going to drift. i just know the 240sx is the cheapest car for a good deal. so far i've decided (if i buy one) to leave it stock b/c i just need a car for errands.

Being in shape, especially strength-wise never hurts in auto racing.

When a given driving action, is say 30% of your maximum effort, instead of 40%, you will be able to perform it quicker and smoother, which makes for better driving.

All the great race drivers spend a lot of time in the gym with well balanced routines, that include upper body and cardio.

With a clutch driven car, leg presses are also useful.

Just dont work out the day before an event.

Fred..:)

And no twinkies between runs. ;)

Seriously, like palmer said, just be in shape. To add to it, stay hydrated.

I will agree with PalmerWMD. I have driven pro rally as well as GT and working out is a must. Most people do not realize how much force is exerted on the body when racing. You need to be fit so that you can handle these forces without fatigue setting in halfway through an event. Next time you go to a drift event wait until it is about half over and take a walk through the pits. I guarantee you will see at least ¼ of the drivers sitting in or next to their cars taking a breather. Those are the guys that need to work out.
