ok, so im doing some body work after crashing on the mountain, i had a shop pull my upper beam above the driver side out cause the tree left a nice big dent. Anyways, i told them i didn't have much so they pulled it out and shaped it sorta. Im working on it now, looks like some filler needed, but my question is, what is the material on the frame starting from the hood and windshield up over the driver window and then stops at the quarter glass. It has a metal trim over it thats black and holds in the weatherstripping. I went to sand it off, then realized it was plastic like. i ended up scraping it off with a chizzle then sanded. What is that material? is it a paint?
