Just picked our brand new G37s sedan (vibrant red) and I am concerned that the doors are going to get dinged up ... and it will show like crazy.

Looking for some body-colored side molding, must look like it came from the factory. I found this place online, wondering if anyone has any experiences with them: http://www.bodysidemoldings.com/

Thx!
Steve

Welcome to NICO~!

Depends on what you like...personally, I don't like the moldings. I have a 2009 G37 Sedan and after a year, no dings/dents. But you never know....

The same argument is for the clear bra. I'd rather just have the front bumper re-painted if it needs it than have a clear bra. To each his own!

Thanks! There is always construction here in Austin and her Maxima really took a beating. Don't want the same thing to happen to this car so we're doing the clear bra.

I don't like the moldings when they aren't body-colored or look aftermarket, but given how people are so inconsiderate these days I'll take the look of 'em over the inevitable dings :(

I've put 8,500 miles on my 2010 G37, mostly highway miles. It has a few chips in the grill and I just had a chip in the windshield repaired. I had a clear bra put on less then a week after buying the car, so the painted portions facing the front of the car still look perfect. The down side to not having a clear bra and just painting the front is you have to live with the chipped front end in-between paint jobs.
I've always been extra careful where I park, but I too would feel better with some type of side bumper protection.
When I bought this car last March, I thought I had convinced myself to just drive and park it without worrying about the chips and dings, but old habits are hard to shake. I'm just as paranoid with this car as the others I've owned.
Please post pictures of your car when and if you have side protection put on it.

Going next week for the bra and molding. I ordered the moldings online, got 'em yesterday and they appear to be a perfect match.

Luckily we got the window tinting done last week so the car sat in the garage while the tint cured...no chance for any errant chips or anything. The front end is still pristine, and I'm not driving it until I go to get the bra installed :D

I shall certainly post pix when its all done.

Nice. I can't even tell there is a bra in those pics! I also live in Austin and think that a clear bra is the way to go; where did you get it from/who installed it?

That's where I was going to get my tint done... they do great work there. How do you like the molding so far?

Hello. I recently bought a White G37x Coupe. I had the 3M Clear Bra put on by the Dealer (they did it free because they so badly handled the sale but that is a whole big story). I was wondering if you installed the side moldings yourself. I do a lot of my own work and was wondering if it was pretty simple and also hope the white color will match. Looks like the red is perfect!

I bought my PrecisionTrim moldings from Brandsports.com. I've had that brand on my 1995 240SX for 17 years. My 2010 G37 Base Coupe is liquid platinum and Trim 22 was a near perfect match. They will send you a free card with small samples attached to match your car's color before ordering. A friend with pinstriping experience applied the body side molding, wheel well molding and door edge guard. Due to the G37's body lines, a laser level was used to insure it was applied level for maximum protection. A small investment to prevent unsightly door dings and to keep from making the dent wizards richer.

Good to know that they do other work besides tinting. I had to have tint warranty work done there on my 2002 Nissan Frontier last year. They did a great job and the golden retriever kept me company while I was waiting :chuckle:

I'm looking for a used G37 and may try to negotiate windowing tinting into the deal if it doesn't have any.

After 50k miles I have yet received a door ding on my coupe. The sedan had quite a few due to the wife parking it in a hospital garage but I had those dings removed and it's pretty straight.

I had good luck buying Precision Trim molding from "brandsport.com". I put it on my liquid platinum 2010 G37. Have had the same molding on my 1995 240SX for 17 years with no problems.
