Okay, I need some help. My wife apparently hit a pole in our parking deck this morning and we're going to need some repairs done. I'm going to try and avoid filing an insurance claim, so does anyone know of a quality body shop in Atlanta?Letting her drive the I30 has turned out to be a HUGE mistake. This is less than a month after she got a ticket for driving 95!!! By far worse than having a 16 year old in the house.

Depends on where you live in Atlanta......you don't want to have the car 50 miles from home......if Dobbins area is good call Anthony at T3 404-794-7700 he will give you the one we use... just paint or a real bumper destroyer?

I took it to Troncalli's shop at lunch and got a quote of $1400. The right front fender needs replacing. There is some minor damage to the psgr. door, but it doesn't need replacing. From memory, parts ran about $400. The rest was paint and labor.

Hmmm.... might be worth shopping around, used parts could work, esp. if they're the right color.

If you plan on keeping the car past 100K miles there's no reason for it to be flawless.

Great idea... If you can get parts from another car from the same year and paint code you'll probably get as good or better paint match as from fresh paint. Hope your I30 is champaign - I think every loaner car I drove was that color!

I say buy a yugo for the wife! :)

Ahhhh, wives! Continued proof of can't live with em, and, can't live without em! Consider the cost of alimony and child support (if applicable) as you ponder your alternatives! Actually, I would not go with the Yugo recommendation, rather, a Buick Roadmaster, or some such Detroit iron, which will protect her, but perhaps totally destroy your deck system, and, maybe your house! How bout getting her into mass transit mode?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing re: Roadmaster. Only I don't want any lawsuits stemming from what would happen to the other guy if she was in a land yacht. I think an Escort Wagon, circa 1986, would do the trick. I've also budgeted about $35K for my new G35 coupe, plus $200 for a safe to lock the keys up at night. I'm taking a "you broke it you bought it" approach to the car. It's hers now, she can start making the payments, which frees me up to buy something new. A steady diet of Bible reading and G35 coupe dreaming has allowed me to keep my cool during all this :D

That's hilarious! Makes me think of that old country song about MB with slightly different lyrics...

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a G35, my wife has the I now - the fenders I mend... :D

My girlfriend has a POS 1993 Mercury Tracer and wants a G35 sedan so bad she can't stand it... I just don't think I could watch what she'd do to it!

We cleaned out her car (sort of) last weekend and she filled up half of my 80 gallon trash can with stuff. Even found a wedding program from 1993! I was afraid to reach under the pile of Burger King/ Arby's / McDonalds bags for fear of being bitten!

Eunics have a great advantage except for the weight gain.

Maybe you should punish your wife by getting an el cheapo repair job where you just bang the metal around and put a big grey patch on it to prevent rust.... that is, if she's image-conscious about the car (most Atlantans are).

Why, oh why you guys don't love your wives :-) G35 is a perfect wife's car. I'll buy one for her as soon as I can. And husbands.... they should drive q45. :D
