I recently replaced my rack on my 89, 240sx but failed to get an alightment, lately on highway speeds when i turn on a highway curb going left my steering wheel feels like it has free play and turns slithly the other way and as i straighten the wheel seconds later the rack straightens it self. would a alightment fix this or should i be looking for may a back shock or springs? the card did not do this in the beggining and the steering wheel ended up slithly crooked to the right when the wheel are straight. thankyou....

you need to get an alignment asap, the toe is probobly way off and that may be causing the body roll.

it also sounds charachteristic of a loose rack or missing rack bushings. i would check the torque on the rack bolts and check the conditions of the rack bushings. for that matter give the tie rods a good look over too.
