I am going to get my car painted soon, and was wondering about the bumper/rubber things that run down both sides of the car. i was wondering if they are glued on, or if they are actually mounted somehow into the sheet metal. will they have the be removed and then refilled or will they just come off? thanx

Do you have an S13?

If so, and its what I'm thinking of, they're stickers, I had to get new ones when I hit a deer and trashed my driver's side front fender.

Do you have an S14?

If so... I dunno... sorry.

You could try peeling an edge of it up, if it feels like it wants to come off as an entire piece than its prob. clipped or screwed on. If it starts to peel or is impossible to get an edge up, chances are its glued on.

Or you could take the easy route and contact a body repair shop or Nissan dealership. They'll know.

i took mine off the other day

they are all stickers but beware because on the fiberglass if your taking them off yourself it does require work. it took me i would say about 6 hours over 3 days to get all of it all the way off. its a big task made easier by a bottle of Goo-Gone which is a powerful dehesive and a rasorblade and clean 100% cotton rag. if you need more exact details message me on aim: KhaosDefcon or post back here and ill explain more in depth. if your paint shop wont take them off for you i suggest you take them off yourself because when they paint around them if you ever want to take them off later youll be screwed. plus the removal of them improves the overall look of the car IMO.-jake
