Body Question

I have a quick question. I have a new door for my s13(passenger side). The previous door met a tree sideways at 25 mph, and was well, not useable anymore. Anyways, I have the new door on, but the frame area where the door is is bent up so that the bottom seals perfectly fine, but the top sits about and inch out with a gap between the window and the seal. I think I know what to bend back into place, but is there any precautions I should take out of the ordinary?
