Hello everybody!

I was wondering if anyone has had experince with Bondo Body putty. I have a few "aerodynamic dents" in my s-13 coupe, and was wondering if anyone has done bodywork.

I have one serious @$$ dent in the driver side rear(from previous owner) And a bunch of other stuff i want to putty up and smooth over.

Any advice?

I'll attempt to post pictures. If anyone can tell me how to post pictures on this forum PLEASE DO! In the last 1 1/2 years of using this same type forum, I still cant post pics on

thanx!

Oh, god! not Bondo. why am I reading about all these 240 owners using Bondo. Just fix the dent! Pull the dent. Don't cover it up. That's like sweeping dust under a carpet. It's only a temporary fix. Then it just get's worse. And if you can't fix it yourself. Have someone fix it professionally. Just say no to bondo.

some dents you cant get out, especially if there is a crease.

What you gotta do with the dent is get most of it out (if its deep) and sand down the area.

fill in the dent as much as possible, but dont make a "mountain". Try once you get the area level to the body, apply small layers around it. Then sand it down til its smooth.

even professionals use bondo.

bondo is a great tool if you know how to use it. I don't see why everyone is so against it. It doesn't hurt a vehicle and how can you make a dent worse than it already is by just bondo'ing over it? The dent wont get any bigger bondo will just appear to fix it.

oh, by small layers, i mean thin layers.

Also if your trying to save money or even want to do your own body work, this is a good thing.

My opinion get everclear stuff, its green when you mix it instead of pink like bondo.

I choose everclear because from experience, its a better filler than bondo, and easier to sand down.

my buddys body shop always uses plastic filler. its alot like bondo but it wont make your paint change colors in the years to come, plus its just a better product to work with. i beleive the color of it is pink but the manufacturers name escapes me right now. also, any body shop should have a dent doctor that comes by with a much more advanced ding king that actually works. good luck on tryin to fix it.

My uncle owns a body shop, but i was trying to stay cheap:D

The only major majo @$$ dent i have is the rear, and I'll end up prolly making a structure out o' chicken wire or fiberglass, and then molding it INTO the body for Bondo support, otherwise, all else shud be good.
