I need a little help on the best way to remove some of the body panels. I'm gonna try and fix a little of this rust up since im tryin to sell it. The process of quarantining and solving rust issues shouldnt be too big of a deal (although hints are always welcome) but I wanted to make sure I dont completely **** something up removing the panels. So whats the best way to go about that? The ones im looking at are mainly the panels around the rear wheel wells. So anything anyone can tell me is appreciated. Thanks.

Here are a few pics of the first two spots I'd like to take care of. I know its ugly... But I needed to save the car, and this is the last bit of saving I need to do for it to be sold to a good person.

this is a pic of the actual panel I want to take off for this, so the rear quarter i guess...

So I guess my actual question, now, is how to properly remove the rear quarter panel.

The only way to remove it is with a cutting wheel....

hes talking about rmoving the rust with the cutting wheel.you cannot take off the rear 1/4 without having to do some drilling or cutting.go to a junkyard with a cordless sawzall and cut out the part you need, and make sure it is alot larger than what you need so you have room to screw up. then cut and clean the rust from the car, and weld the new metal on.theres more to it than that, but thats just a quick run through of what will have to be done.

ahh, that makes more sense. Yea, thats what I was hoping to be able to do. I knew I was gonna have to cut the rust out, I just figured it'd be easier if the panel was off the car so I could manipulate it better.

so what youre tellin me... is that taking it off involves taking the whole side of the car off? Cause I thought i could see a few places where it had looked like it had been welded onto the car, but i dont know how easy if would be to take that off.

im telling you, just do what i said and dont try to separate the rear 1/4 from the car. you could really screw up the car if you put it back on wrong. cut the rust out, clean the area, and weld in new metal.

Reason why Im mentioning it is that its pretty much part of the chassis. I have a fat side impact on my quarter panel. Really only way to go about it is to get a cut-off wheel or saw and cut the piece out.
