How much do does anyone think this would cost to repair or maybe I could even do it myself? I love the car but the damage always seems to point itself out.

Just take it to maaco, surprisingly they actually do decent body work. I know this because they did my entire car including a whole bunch of body work.

Is it that hard to get a free estimate at a body shop. I would say anywhere from 300-600 if you get a new/used gas cap cover and its done correctly. Go to a reputable body shop too.

I already did get an estimate, but I wanted the opinions of others before disclaiming the supposed amount that I would have to pay.. The estimate I recieved was for $1800 and I bought the car for $1700.

Thats a pretty good price for what you are getting, those rear panels can be a pain to work on.

Only if you are trendy... and have the money to buy new tires and wheels to go under them.

On second thought, slydin'240 that was a horrible idea.

How do you figure that is a "horrible idea"? With the estimate he got you CAN buy the widebody for the rear, tires and wheels. And what does trendy have to do with anything. I was giving him a second option. And looking at your sig you seem to be pretty trendy with your 180sx center panel and silvia front end.

Well, if you have the widebodies molded into the body, paintmatched, good quality rims and tires, you have already exceeded the price. The riveted look is horrible for a streetcar, BTW.

I believe your suggestion was "trendy" because he is going to have to cut corners to make it work. I dont like using the word rice.

I still disagree with you but its not your car. I put the idea out there for him. He can look into it and see if that the way he wants to go.

Thank you all your your opinions/replies/advice but honestly, getting just the widebody for the rear would not look good in my opinion. I love the sleeper look and it would be a waste if I bought $2000 worth of bodywork versus making the car better performance wise. Big 17 or 18 inch wheels with skinny tires, again in my opinion, look pretty dumb with the scrawny front and rear stock rotors and calipers like with what I see on some Civics with their very small drums in the rear and big open wheels. If anything I would buy rims that would be slightly bigger for future brake upgrades or just increasing ventilation and decreasing temperatures. I don't know though, that's just me I guess. (I would like the body to be as dent-free as possible though without spending too much money)

MAACO is fine, but you must prep the car yourself because they suck at that of usually dont do it themselves. Sand & primer it yourself basically.

Aren't you gonna spend close to that just to get it back to factory though? You said you estimate was for $1700. I still don't understand where you guys get $2000 to widebody the rear even with the body work. Maybe its just cheaper up here to get that kind of stuff done.

Is that three pictures of one dent? Or is that threedifferent spots? My grandpa and dad run a body shop and they do the best work and for the best pices. But we are in missouri lol. but seriously we could fix that for around 300-600 easy i'm sure, and it would be the best work you've ever seen. they do body work and paintjobs for the big car dealers around here. they are the most recommended
