Some of you might remember me, I was pretty active on here a couple of years ago. I figured I would start a new build thread as a lot has changed since Ive been gone.

To start here was the car when I first bought it around 3-4 years ago when I was stationed in CA.
Image

I really started going over the car and doing the typical mod's.. Flash forward to about a year ago..
SR20 GT2871 Etc..

Well at the last event of 2013 my dearly loved SR decided to spin a rod bearing. Instead of rebuilding I decided to go another route and take on a new project for the winter.. and found a great local deal.

Pulled the SR and began my part out
Image

and Boom...
Image

F-Body LS1 and built T-56

Engine Specs.
MS4 Camshaft
Texas Speed Valve train (springs, pushrods etc)
Speed pro forged pistons
LS6 Intake manifold
ARP everything haha..
Fidanza Lightweight flywheel
Sikky transmission mount
Sikky Driveshaft
Sikky Headers
Canton Racing Oil pan
Custom engine mounts
Tuned ECU
and a fully built T56

I decided to purchase..
Wiring Specialties Pro wiring harness
Spec stage 3 clutch
MSD starter
Sikky Fuel filter kit
Mishimoto radiator/fan shroud kit
Fidanza replacement friction plate

a few pics
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Took off the old friction plate to replace with the new..
Image

Image

installed the new clutch and picked up some ARP flywheel bolts
Image

Image

Image

Then my WS harness came in :naughty:
Image

Did some transmission tunnel hammering, which sucked complete a**
Image

Dropped off the headers to get ceramic coated, and actually just picked them up today.
Image

Image

Also got MLS gaskets
Image

and now everything is all freshened up and ready to drop in.
Image

and the current chassis setup..

Tein Super Street Coilovers
Tein Pillowball Upper Mounts
Energy Suspension Master bushing Kit (All bushings replaced)
Energy Suspension Polyurethane Subframe Bushings
ISIS Toe Arms
ISIS Traction Arms
Adjustable Rear Upper Control Arms
Adjustable Tension Rods
Wilwood 12.2” 4POT Front Brake kit (Arizona Z Car)
STRI Electronic Oil Press Gauge
STRI Electronic Fuel Press Gauge
STRI Electronic Water Temp Gauge

Image

Image

My schedule is pretty crazy, as I work full time, Im a full time student in a Master's program, and Im also a single parent, plus the 10deg weather and snow dont help. But should be up and and running soon. I also have a few FLCA and Knuckle mods planned, but want the LS to be up and running before I go there. More to come..

Few little details finished while I wait for the snow surrounding my car to melt..

Intake pipe complete (ordering a fresh filter tomorrow)
Image

Steam vent routed to upper rad hose.

I bought the adapter from Jagsthatrun.com

So I was planning on waiting to have the LS running before I invested in any steering & knuckle mods, but I started a conversation with one of the well known fabricators and shop owner (Mike at Nocturnal Motorworks) about his knuckle and FLCA mods, I was sold.

I found a set of knuckles cheap locally and ordered brand new MOOG FLCA'S and dropped them off.

Before:

and after :D

but they wont be put on until the LS is up and running..

and after spending $100 on fluids and picking up a new Welded..

I have everything ready to go, and the weather has been clearing up and snow has been melting so I have plans to drop the engine in this weekend if all goes well.

Thanks guys, I have definitely gone full retard on this build. But I have worked very hard to accomplish my lifestyle and actually just received and accepted a new job offer this afternoon for a new position as a digital imaging operations supervisor for an amazing nationwide company, so its been a great day so far :)

but I just got my K&N Filter and Earls fitting in today for my Fuel pressure gauge
Image

and the intake setup
Image

and the Sikky corvette fuel filter/regulator kit with the new fitting in place
Image

and a shot of my workspace (I need more space haha)
Image

More coming this weekend :dblthumb:

I went to install the AN fitting on the fuel rail and notice something wasnt right.. my LS didnt have the typical LS1 fuel rail and had a barb style fitting on the feed line..

This isnt right at all :ugh:
Image

So I took it all apart and found a local correct LS1 Fuel rail

Image

Image

Fuel rail all fixed
Image

Today was so nice out, I decided to take a half day off from work and come home and get some work done.

Since I have to unbolt the steering shaft to install the driver's side header, I figured I would replace that bushing as well. Picked up from Forced Fab.

Image

and all done..
Image

So I got the sikky fuel kit all hooked up and also put on the new fresh plate welded diff and here's where I finished the day..

Image

I have no plans except working on the car tomorrow, so it should be a good day :mike

Thanks, and all in all, everything from the engine & transmission to fluids and gaskets... a little over 8k.

Little update. Everything is hooked up, the fans have been wired and I should be starting her up very soon :)

Everything is about wrapped up, just need to connect the upper radiator hose, go and get a proper fitting lower radiator hose, connect vacuum to the brake booster, and connect the battery cable to the starter.

Image

The intake didnt fit as planned, so Ill picking up some new piping to change that up, but thats no big deal.

I also wanted to share the information I received from some members on LS1Tech regarding the fittings on the fuel filter/regulator that were included in the Sikky kit.

The fittings included in the Sikky kit have a plastic insert and are a "snap on" style fitting, I have been informed that this style of fitting have potential to blow off due to high fuel pressure, sometimes resulting in a fire. (Please note this is not me bashing Sikky or their products)

Here is a picture of the plastic "snap on" fittings.. (even though the feed and return labeling is incorrect)
Image

and the new improved fitting..
Image

Needless to say, $40 in fittings for peace of mind is well worth it, so I just placed another order to summit racing. A few days delay in the startup, but the weather is supposed to be s*** in STL anyway this weekend, so oh well..

It started!!

Tuesday was my last day working for the company I previously worked for, and decided to take the rest of the week off before starting at the new company.

Tuesday night my fittings finally arrived and I was able to finally attempt to start the car.. and it fired right up on the first try. IT WAS LOUD.. my neighbors hate me

Start up video (I dont remember how to embed on here)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEv3JLc9 ... e=youtu.be

Fixed a small coolant leak, wired up my E-fans, put on my y-pipe and went for a long drive today.

Image

It is awesome, the MS4 Cam is sooo aggressive, its crazy. Running straight pipe is way too loud for the street, so Im going to an exhaust shop in the morning to have a Vibrant muffler mounted, which I plan to have a clamp in place so I can remove the muffler at the track.

Im still breaking in the clutch, so Im havent been too hard on it, but at 60% throttle it's instant power and pulls like a freight train.

I got my Vibrant muffler welded on today and it's much better. I went for a long drive today and love it. I will probably have my modded knuckles on and go in for a fresh alignment within a week or two, and then ill be all ready for the first event on April 6th.

There is no feeling quite like driving your LS 240 for the first time with open headers!

After my 5 year build it was like my firstborn child was being born, lol. I'm working on clutch issues on mine now.

The knuckles feel awesome, I did a few 3rd gear test runs and I cant believe the difference. Well worth the small cost and I recommend them 100% to anyone
