BNR32 @ HNR32

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

besides typing it in at the search and coming up empty handed, what is the difference in the two ?obviously both RB20DET but whats makes them different

BNR32 is only RB26dett, gtr ,vspec, vspec 2

HCR32 is RB20 - GTS type s, type j , V.

RB20det GTS-T, GTS-T type m

HNR32 - is theo nly other RB20det GTS-4

this is according to hyper rev magazine.

so if i got an rb20det from an hnr32, am i F**ked i really dont wanna fab up crap how will it work in my 1990 coupe do i need to make custom awd stuff? i really dont want awd i just want 2wd

so the underside of the ignitor chip says hnr32 so does that mean the whole motor is from that car or are the ignitors interchangable

the motors are virtually the same. Jon says the trannys and oil pans are different. So if you can find a RWD RB20 transmission and oil pan, you should be good to go...

HNR RB20DET 4WD, HCR RB20DET RWD. engine and minor electronics are the same, computer itself is different due to all the HNR's extra ATESSA 4WD control crap and the oil pan on the HNR is of course different as it hangs the front diff. I have owned both and other than the lack of a boost gauge sensor (the 4's front torque meter sits where the boost does in a T, no center gauge pod like the R) I saw no major differences.
