In the upcoming 2010 Paris Auto Show, the venerable luxury auto maker BMW will debut several new updates to its expansive range of vehicle, including a design study to replace the current 6-Series Coupe. Billed as only a “BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe”, the new vehicle carried over the familiar styling from the previous model, including the iconic “kidney-shape” front grill. Yet, aspects of it are much more streamlined. Contoured, the lines flowed seamlessly from front to back of the vehicle, rather jagged visual breaks, made famous by the former BMW Chief of Design, Chris Bangle. The exterior designs also translated to the newly appointed interior, with a free standing Control Display for the iDrive vehicle management system. No words on when the new 6 Series Coupe will be available to the general public.

Joining Aston Martin, Audi and Mercedes-Benz AMG, BMW is the latest automaker to team up with Bang & Olufsen to develop sound systems for their future range of vehicles. The first fruits of the partnership between the two companies can be seen in the new BMW Concept 6-Series Coupe, which will debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

“We are very enthusiastic about this co-operation. BMW and Bang & Olufsen share values that focus on design and performance; values that have given both brands a unique position in the market within their respective areas,” said President & CEO Karl Kristian Hvidt Nielsen of Bang & Olufsen.

The BMW Concept 6-Series Coupe features 16 loudspeakers, with a subwoofer positioned under each front seat, seven mid-range loudspeakers and seven tweeters. The concept also features Bang & Olufsen’s car and home audio technology, Acoustic Lens Technology (ALT), which featured in numerous Bang & Olufsen products, including the top-of-the-range BeoLab 5 loudspeakers. ALT maximizes the area of optimum sound in front of the loudspeaker, providing an improved sense of space and realism.

Those headlights are awful! It looks like it's squinting, or about to sneeze. Do not want.

^ Nope, the new M3s are nasty!

Its ok I guess. The o-s**t crossover handle thing is neat looking. I think the body is ok but different that the BMW look. The interior is really nice too and its hard to please me on interior. The only thing I really dont like are the wheels. If they took out the center line from between the 2 bigger spokes, they'd be better. Not bad... hp ideas??

Little too curvy for my taste.

The interior looks really nice though. I like how they point the center controls towards the driver.

Six tester cars with the black covers came into town today and parked at the store I was at. Some German guys were driving them and we talked to them for a minute. They said they couldn't tell us what the were or any details but I could have sworn they were Bimmers. The main guy offered to look the other way while my uncle took some pics. I'll get them and post them.

I like everything about it except the dash cluster. The speedo or tach should be centered and not split.

Looks like BMW is trying to reduce cost by rebuilding current test models. :eek

I dig the interior tho.
