A different diameter master cylinder isn't gonna make you car stop sooner, it will only change the pedal feel. The firewall can even bulge out slightly, (under pressure from your braking foot), and make the brakes feel less soild. Never having owned a 240sx, IDK if it has a flexy firewall to begin with, or how the stock master cylinder feels either, but the same principles apply to any vehicle. As long as you aren't gonna use a master cylinder from a 1960's car, (they only had one line coming out), then you are on the right track. How does the stock one feel?

Unless you do some sort of brake upgrade then as stated, a new bmc will only change pedal feel. People change bmc's when doing brake upgrades so they can retain stock pedal feel.

I suggest upgrading to a higher quality brake fluid or doing a brake upgrade if you are interested in more stopping power.
