one of your valve seats is letting oil into the cylinder. Blue smoke is oil being burnt. Lucas makes a product that helps tighten seals back up. Try running a bottle of that in your next oil change

thats possible but the amoutn of oil that can enter through the valve cover and spark plug area is very limited and at most will cause your engine to misfire by insulating your ignition components. my bet would be that those 2 gaskets wouldnt stop your engine from gobbling up oil

Geez a whole new engine over a little bit of blue smoke? I would check those spark plug gaskets, one might be sitting wrong and letting a tad bit in. Also, try that lucas stuff. My car would smoke but I poured that in and hello no more smoke.

Try a couple things before pulling that engine.

Unless of course you are willing to give it away or sell it cheap, then by all means it is about to explode and i'll take it off your hands before it causes you any more headaches.

it's not the worst thing in the world. run some lucas oil treatment through it first before you jump the gun.

If you're doing a KA-T, you might as well just get a valve job done. That woudl solve the puffing problem for certain, and it would help the engine breath a bit better for the turbo.

New valve cover gaskets won't make the engine puff smoke. The oil has to be in the cylinder, and it can't get there through the spark plug well. It has to go through a valve.

it wouldn't cause a valve seat to leak. Age and abuse causes that to happen.
