Is there any documentation on the Bluetooth connect feature for the A/C?

There is a new program for the Palm called Softick Audio Gateway which will stream audio to any A2DP compatible speakers. Since the Coupe already uses bluetooth to connect to my Treo, I am wondering if I can get it to play MP3s from Treo's Pocket Tunes.

The bluetooth in the a/c is not A2dp, the way the speakers handle bluetooth will not be acceptable for music, it only outputs to the center speaker no subs etc. Also you would need to initiate a connection to the bluetooth which the car will not do unless in a call.

I'm sure it's *technically* possible, but it would be a pain in the @$$ to work out.

Negative, the bluetooth is phone only. Some nav systems/aftermarket systems have the ability to connect bluetooth devices and stream like you mentioned, but not the OEM Nav-- it only supports Phone.

I know, it's a damn shame. Our phones could have worked like flash/jump drives...

Does anyone know, is it possible to update the bluetooth hardware or firmware in the Nissan Altima (I have a Hybrid with nav if it makes any difference) to supports A2DP? I've called the dealership, twice actually, but they don't know and told me they would call me back, never did. Any help would be appreciated!
