Bluetooth quit working! Any suggestions?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Two days ago I got into the car after work, and my bluetooth just quit working. An incoming call rang once and when I tried to answer it using my touchscreen - there was no audio. The counter shows the phone was answered but no audio. Same when I tried to call out either manually or using the audio voice dialer. The ipod not connected comes up on the screen - even though I have never tried to connect anything.

Any suggestions? Don't want to go into dealer until I try everything. bought car in December and it has worked until now....however, the audio quality on the callers end - apparently is really muddy and not pleasant for my callers. My Jabra works better than the ex35 bluetooth - which shouldn't be happening.

Factory Bluetooth systems suck. Period.

The one in my wife's G35 has been turned off for 3-years.

The one in the EX is better, but it is still an annoyance to callers.

A lot, in my opinion, has to do with the microphone placement. Acentral location is not optimal. It needs to be closer to the driver.

As far as your situation... did you try a new cable? They do go bad.

Thanks, John.......I didn't connect anything to the car - it just quit. I was playing with the buttons for the radio stations as the XM radio expired (dealer didn't include a trial version so I didn't buy it).

Do you know where the microphone actually is? Is there a way to move it maybe?

Hate to go back to my Jabra, which I use in the Xterra. Mandatory law here to use bluetooth - and it is not possible to dial or answer properly.

hey Beyond, try this.I've got this info from the Infiniti R&D guys when I went in for the survey.

remove the BT pairing from both the Car and the cell phone, then have them search and repair again. they said it will solve the BT issues most of the time. Let me know if it works.

My new blackberry did this once. I reset the phone, re-paired the devices, and it started working again. Do you have a blackberry device by any chance? In my case I thought the phone, not the car, was the culprit because my previous phone connected flawlessly for more than a year.

I deleted the EX35 from my Blackberry - pulled the battery - deleted it from the EX35 system - then paired the whole thing back (minus the address book, which was a pain to reenter)...It worked!!!!! Thanks

BTW John - thanks for the location of the microphone. When I reentered my voice tags, I spoke into the sunroof switch area - and the tags came out much clearer. I'll try to talk into my roof next time someone phones me.
