The bluetooth in my Versa has been acting up for quite a while now. Since it's not under warranty any more and I can't trust the dealer I'll throw it out here to see what your opinions are. It works very well for answering calls and talking but that's about it.

1. It won't recognize any command but "call" and only one person/"home". "Delete" doesn't work. Number recognition is almost nonexistent, too. Is it a chip/module? Who is qualified to work on it other than Nissan dealers? A stereo shop? Is it something I can do like the chips and drives I added to my computers?

2. About half the time it doesn't link to my phone when I start the car. It used to work every time. The phone is an LG Envy2 so I'm thinking maybe it's the phone getting older as opposed to the bluetooth on the car?

mine tends to be sensitive at times, I have to speak clearly, but it always works, I can't help you with the tech. side of it, but have you tried deleting your phone from it, then readding it? if that does nothing for you, and you say your phone is old, try adding a friends phone to see if it's a bluetooth problem or a phone problem.

It doesn't accept commands when it's linked to my wife's phone, either. Yes, I have tried to get it out of there and reiadd it but it won't accept a delete command.

Hmm, well if your wifes phone does it too, then it must be the bluetooth, it's a shame it's out of warranty, but I would check with a Nissan dealer to see if there is a way to reset it, maybe it won't be that bad.

I'm thinking along those lines but that's why I was hoping some of the techs here might have some ideas. I really do not trust the dealers in this area and I don't have the time or money to drive all over southern California to one that I do. Plus, if it sounds like a bad chip or module, paying for a reset instead of a replacement will be a waste of money. Not knowing whether or not it's something I can install myself, I hate to pay extra to have something like that done.

If you were to disconect your battery for a few, would that reset it like your radio loses set stations? just a thought.

I don't know. I do know that when I changed out the battery it didn't affect the bluetooth. I may not have had it disconnected long enough. Any techs in here have an answer?

Is there a bluetooth fuse? pull it for a few days and see.

Not yet. I've had other things going on around the house requiring my attention (plumbing, looking for work, etc.).

The Bluetooth seems to be linking up more consistently when I get in the car but it still won't take commands. I've done without the full system for so long I'll put up with it a little longer until I can afford to pay someone to look at it.
