Hello,

I have read multiple threads but most are at least 10 years old that I have found. I just acquired at 2009 M35x with bose/navigation and would like to add Bluetooth audio but not loose function of my bluetooth phone since laws here in MN make it illegal to hold your phone. Is there any good solution for this? I have seen the Ipod connectors and adapters like coolstream but that would disconnect my phone audio wouldn't it?

Thanks for your help!
Ben

I believe the USA Spec BT unit may be up your alley...but I've never used it. Just going off posts here.

Yes I have seen a couple post and seen the unit. Was hoping I wouldnt have to run an microphone but probably wont have a choice if I want both phone and audio.

I have used usa spec bt on 2 2006 m45's now, its the only good option that I found.
I actually bought a bluetooth 5 receiver and plugged it into the 'aux' port on the usa spec bt, becuase it has bluetooth like 2.0 and it was slow connection and annoying

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I am currently working on the Ipod adapter cable in the center console. May try the bluetooth module that has a ipod connection but I think I will lose my handsfree connecting to that so it may not work like I wanted it to. Otherwise, I think I will get a ipod to connect and call it good.

I have 07 M45. I'm able to play music through Bluetooth no cables from phone to stock car audio. My radio is set on preset C channel 1/sat. The only way to >>or<< is by using the tuning knob.

So you just connect your phone to hands free and play music through the Sat1 channel? Do you use any adapters? I tried for days and couldn't get it to play. I finally just got a small ipod that I connect to my phone hotspot so I can play pandora.

After my disc changer stopped reading discs, I spent $25 on a Bluetooth FM Transmitter on Amazon The audio quality isn't great passing through Bluetooth and FM, but it's passable for car audio. I upgraded my fronts to some JBL components and use a 10" sub in the back. If nothing else, being able to listen to podcasts or Spotify in the car instead of CDs or local radio is a huge step up.
