I have a 2006 M35x with the bluetooth handfree for my cell phone. I notice occasionally that, when driving, the navigation screen will say something like, "Disconnecting from Mobile Device". This happens randomly. Usually, if i just hit the Phone button it will reconnect. But, it seems to randomly drop out at times. Other times, I will enter the car and it will not connect automatically. If i hit the phone button it brings up the menu with the phone listed but still does not connect when i hit enter. Does anyone else have similar issues or is it maybe just my system/phone.

I noticed this happens if your phone was connected to another device before you entered the car, it will not connect automatically. This is probably a phone issue.

Thanks for the feedback. Let me see if the weak phone battery correlates to the problem. This is the only bluetooth device i connect to so I dont think it is a problem with previously being connected to other devices.

Also, people indicated when i was talking with them that they heard alot of echo. I backed down the "transmit" volume in the phone settings and i am going to see if that helps.

There is a technicao lservice bulletin that is out on this issue - it involves the dealer rewiring the blue tooth system and placing a mic nearer to your head....ask the dealer about it - should fix the problem....
