I've been using my Bluetooth phone "Hands Free" in my Altima Coupe and it works great. But I have one question about it, maybe someone can explain. When I'm talking on the hands free and during a call I want to switch to using the phone, let's say for privacy reasons or I'm parking and leaving the car, what do I do??? I can't find anything on my phone that does it (it's a UT StarCom Super Slice from Virgin Mobile). There has to be an easy answer, right? It seems so basic.

This is a damn good question. My only suggestion would be to try and turn off the bluetooth connection on your phone while your on the call.

I use an iPhone and it has a button for "Audio Source", in there it gives me the option of Bluetooth, iPhone, or Speakerphone. I just switch back to iPhone when I don't want to use the car's Bluetooth. I don't know if your phone has this screen or not. You might just have to turn the Bluetooth off on your phone. I don't know if it will work by turning the Bluetooth off in the car, it might disconnect your call or leave the person on the line hanging. Good luck!

That would be the easiest thing...but my cheapo phone doesn't seem to have a button for that. I have to go into the menu system and it's about 5 clicks to turn Bluetooth off, not too convienent when you're on a call. I was thinking that there might be a way of doing it from my Coupe.

Okay...I took drastic measures...I opened my Altima Coupe Owners Manual!! (yes, I could here the binding crackle). Here's what you do when on a call and want to go into a privacy mode. Click the talk/phone button on the steering wheel and say "Transfer call", which will send the call back to your cell phone. Sounds easy enough...haven't tested it yet but this is what I was looking for. Sorry to bother everybody...I guess I should have turned to the manual in the first place.

Naaahh, The manual is just a book of confusion. You did the right thing by posting. Now, it's a different story if you didn't do a search first..that would be a bad thing!

In my car with the Nav system there's an option that says Handset. You just hit that and it lets you talk on your phone instead of using the car speaker.
