There might be, but why would you want to do this? Are you just trying to eliminate the one wire running from the iPod to the AUX connector?{WBK}Viper wrote:I know they make a bluetooth transmitter for Ipods that transmits to a set of earphones.
I wonder if there is a bluetooth receiver that would plug into the audio port and you can send your ipod music through that way.
Thus eliminating a cable....They make stuff for boats and home theatersand such like that...anyone seen one for this application?
I understand completely. Unfortunately, the more I think about this the less I think it is possible. If I'm hearing you right, you want to be able to plug something into your iPod, and then have a little mini-connector (headphone-type jack) that plugs into the AUX input and there is no wired connection to the iPod? Unfortunately, that mini jack would then need power somehow. I think the only way to go wireless is with a RF modulator, but the quality would be decreased somewhat. What about mounting a dock somewhere on the dash and having the wire running from there? I know they make those. Obviously not the ideal solution, but probably the easiest.{WBK}Viper wrote:Yep. It always gets stuck in the passenger seat or seatbelt when I'm using myipod and just looks stupid to have a wire running around all the timein such a nice car. Anything I can do to "sleek" it up, I'm all for.
Probably sounds a bit anal and not important, but I'm definatelyan A type personality...LOL Gotta have it just perfect ya know?
It probably does work, but crap that seems like a lot of money. That's hitting the price range of some of the entry-level single DIN head units that have iPod control. Doesn't seem too cost effective to me.{WBK}Viper wrote:WOW...I found one. I've been looking for weeks and finally came acrossthis. It isn't exactly what I wanted, but.....

You plug it into your ipod and then plug the other device into the stereo. The stereo side looks like it operates by a "wire" to your power port. Theipod side looks like it runs off a rechargeable battery.
Hmmmm.....wonder if it works and what it sounds like.
Pretty expensive though. 199?????? Seems a bit steep for a simplebluetooth trans and receiver.
It would be much better if the receiver ran off a rechargeable battery soyou don't have to plug it in....and I don't see why the Transmitter cantrun off the ipod battery. Someone needs to make one of those.
Wow, I totally didn't pay any attention to your signature. So I didn't realize you don't have navigation and the iPod adapter will work for you. This is definitely your best bet. It should be the most user friendly and have the best audio quality.{WBK}Viper wrote:Agreed. I'll go for the Ipod interface instead...then you get steering wheel control.
