Hey all new to the forum and also new to being an Infiniti owner. I just purchased an 08 QX56 and did not realize when testing that there is no way to use my Android phone to play music via the bluetooth. So far I have been able to use my phone to play music using the aux connector. Has anyone of you been able to successfully get music to stream or play using bluetooth? I have considered maybe just replacing the factory audio system, but I don't want to lose the dash display for the status etc. I don't mind losing the navigation system being because I already have a Garmin and the 08 navigation needs updating anyway and is waaaay to expensive to do. I welcome all input and suggestions, and thanks in advance for your help.

Wow, thanks for the response, so no one has found a way to do that, even with something after market?

yes you can go aftermarket which some do but you will lose some of the factory functionality.

Yeah that is what I figured as well. Nah, I don't think it is worth the hassle. If I had to sacrifice any of the factory options, it would be the navigation. I could use my Garmin for that, but don't want to chance losing anything else. Thanks for the replies.

Sorry if I seem pesty,. So I did a chat session with the rep at CarID and this is what they recommend and confirm that it will work. Any thoughts from the forum on this?

read reviews and decide for yourself.

many aftermarket products will work. you wont have 100% factory functionality.

Wow, that sure puts a new perspective on that choice. It does however, make me think that there are some possible solutions out there, just have to search some more. At this point though, I think I will settle for playing my music using the AUX connection. The quality and volume is not all that great, and that maybe due to the phone or music app. Thanks for all the responses and suggestions.

Been using the AUX or the DVD/AUX for playing music, not a big fan of it, but seems it's the best I will be able to do. Shop wants about 500 for a Bluetooth device that will allow me to play music but I won't be able to control thru the car. Anyway, will just have to suck it up and stick with the built in options for playing music (aux, flashcard, cds). Feels like I went back in time lol. Do people still use cd's for playing music, lol?

How are you streamijg thru Bluetooth? I assume you don't have an 08 QX56. If you do, it would be awesome if you could share how you do that. Thanks

Honestly can't say, since I have the 08. But mine is right above the gear shift and a bit to the right. Looks like a little hole for a headphone jack. I jsbe also used the audio connectors on my DVD player. Now I just used card. The quality on the auxiliary is nowhere close to what the card puts out.

What I was talking about was that some folks on the board have said there was a way to hook up an iPad iPod phone whatever to the DVD AUX input in an 06 QX56 via an RCA cable. I was trying to figure out what the heck they're talking about because I have no idea where any kind of RCA input is for a DVD.

I have to say, even though at this point it is moot, but for the price of this vehicle, it sure lacks the one feature that cheaper vehicles come standard with. It may not be that bad if there was at least an after market product you could use without sacrificing what you already have. I don't mind giving up the navigation system since it so outdated and it cost too way much to update.
